Gothic Stories: Frankenstein and Beyond – 11 Oct

October 11, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

£8

Off to Birmingham we go for a gothic adventure. Delighted to be taking part in an event to mark the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelly’s Franksenstein as part of the Birmingham Literature Festival. Here’s their blurb and link for tickets below.

From wild and remote landscapes, to dilapidated buildings, howling winds, vulnerable heroines and supernatural happenings, Gothic fiction has intrigued and unsettled readers for more than two centuries. Our panel will include academic researcher Franziska Kohlt and contemporary Gothic and Horror writers Andrew Michael Hurley (The Loney and Devil’s Day) and Jess Kidd (The Hoarder) who will also discuss and read from their latest books. This event will be Chaired by Dr Serena Trowbridge, School of English, Birmingham City University.
